He still hasn’t found what he’s looking for (Bono meets Eugene Peterson)

The following is posted by Pastor Jim Jenkins over at Herescope: “It’s entirely possible to look at something so long that you can’t really see it anymore. For years I have been calling people back to simple faith in the … Continue reading

Emotional manipulators: The truth must die

I’m about to share complete blasphemy with you, wrapped and bound snugly in the heartstrings of emotionalism and self esteem. Before you see this in your youth group, in your women’s Bible study, on your timeline, or even from the … Continue reading

Emotional manipulators: The truth must die

I post this story as a preemptive strike against those who will perpetuate the lies of the enemy of our souls. They do it beautifully, with skilled manipulation cloaked in tears. If a wolf cries real tears, then what they are saying must be true, right? After all, God judges the heart, and this wolf’s heart is humble. If that sounds harsh, I don’t mean it to be…

Jen Hatmaker: “Christians should open wide their churches to LGBT community”

So many Christian women who love the Lord are very upset with me for warning them about Jen Hatmaker. Yes, I know, Jen is the lovable mom, writer and speaker who is known for being “Raw and Real.” Apparently she … Continue reading

Jen Hatmaker: “Christians should open wide their churches to LGBT community”

Yes, I know, Jen is the lovable mom, writer and speaker who is known for being “Raw and Real.” Apparently she says what women think, or wish they could say, and she tells a lot of great, emotional stories.  But if we judge her fruit (that’s her doctrine, ladies; not her social works) against the truth of Scripture…

We’ll make it fit.

How tempting it is for the media and fans to turn Prince into a secret Christian hero. As a Minnesotan and Twin Citian who came of age in the 80s, I watched Prince’s rise to fame and his iconic Paisley Park studios and home rise to be as iconic as his brand. I remember hearing that Prince had found God and had become a Jehovah’s Witness. (He’d probably never ring doorbells.) And to me, all those Jesus religions were all the same back then anyway.

Discernment Challenge: If you see something, say something!

Every week it seems, Marsha and I receive at least a couple of messages from women who are fraught with angst over a social media post from their friend, relative or church that promotes a false teacher. “What should I … Continue reading

Discernment Challenge: If you see something, say something!

“Here’s the truth, folks. There are a plethora of spiritual charlatans and doctrinal snake oil salesmen who really will ravage your friends, spiritually molest your family, theologically wound your coworkers and maim your loved ones. The fact is, if you love them and you see something, you should say something.”

Todd Bentley posts “proof” of angel feathers and gem stones

Romans 16:17 tells us to mark and avoid false teachers. Todd Bentley has been marked and (hopefully) avoided by most discerning Christians, but unfortunately he claims millions of followers around the world who are impressed by his “miracles.” Now he … Continue reading

Betrayed with a kiss: Azusa Now’s One World Religion

It’s been six weeks since I posted: Azusa Redux: Lou Engle, Greg Laurie uniting denominations?

That’s a question that was resoundingly affirmed by Lou Engle in the sound of one sloppy wet kiss.  The NAR-affiliated false teacher Lou Engle, founder of the “Azusa Now: The Call”  exchanged foot kisses with a Roman Catholic leader live on stage in front of a cheering audience of 100,000+ packed into the LA Coliseum this past weekend.
