Why the World Hates Genuine Christianity and all True Christians

John 3:13 says “Do not be surprised that the world hates you.” By why? The following is reblogged from Mike Ratliff over at Possessing The Treasure:

There are many ministries in our time that are run by people who have either forgotten that friendship with the world is a sin or they are deliberately overlooking it. If a ministry operates in such a way that the world loves it then there is at least one missing component within it. That of course is obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Scripture is clear that Christians cannot be friends of the world. Why? Satan is the one who dominates the evil world system, which is in rebellion against God (John 14:30). Therefore, the world not only hates Jesus, but also those who follow Him. This hatred is also focused toward the Father because He sent Jesus to testify against it. Now, since this is true and clearly taught in Sacred Scripture, what does this say about those ministries who work overtime to accommodate the secular and to appeal to temporal ways and means?

. . Even though the world hates us, we can love the world unconditionally.
. . Even though the world hates us, we can show our big love not to hate the world.
. . I believe such unconditional love will change the world.

This is TRUTH that continues to be underestimated. Yes. The world does indeed HATE TRUTH. So much so, it is why we see so much lust for media entertainment that revolves around fiction. LIES. Songs are lies. Stories are lies. People love lies. They would take a pretty lie over an ugly truth any day. And if you try to correct their deception by giving them Truth, they will scold you for it.

Churches are all guilty of this Sin. Hence, the sign they have fallen away. The TRUTH is very hard to swallow. And it takes a special kind of person to do so. We were told that the narrow path to Heaven will not be taken by many. For they will take the broad and false path. And their false version of Jesus will lead them there. GOD showed contempt in the OT. And for good reason. Because love isn't all sugary sweet. Jesus wasn't soft like a gay man. Yes. He had compassion. But He also had conviction. He spoke TRUTH always. And many resented Him for it. I don't see ANY Christian in my path doing this. Frankly, I have heard more Truths coming from the atheists I know.

To follow the narrow path we MUST walk in only TRUTH. Eradicating hypocrisy from our lives. It won't be easy. We will deny ourselves of the world. And we will be loathed by many. Can you handle it for the rest of your life? THAT IS THE PRICE.

GOD showed us that love is conditional by creating HELL.

The answer to the question posed in the last part of the write up:

Now, since this is true and clearly taught in Sacred Scripture, what does this say about those ministries who work overtime to accommodate the secular and to appeal to temporal ways and means?

1 John 2:15-17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. 1 John 4:5-6

The "We are of God" here is not just anyone who calls themselves a pastor, preacher, teacher, whatever, it goes to those to whom God gave the charge and the Holy Spirit moved in them to write the Scriptures. Not just men of old who were moved by the Holy Ghost but the Apostles also whose writings were accepted in the 1st Century Church. These are the teachings we must hold to and observe.

Today when tares outnumber the wheat and seek to choke them out, where do you go to find fellowship? Where do you go where you are not worshiping God in vain?

I am convinced whatever the denomination says on the door there will be at least a few true believers. And as far as vain worship goes, well that is all about obedience to His word: 1 Samuel 15:22-23, Romans 13:8-11, 14:13, 23 and it is a personal thing John 4:23-24

The point isn't to find the perfect church here, but to be salt and light in whatever fellowship we find ourselves in. Know that we cannot control others behavior, we cannot even control ourselves if we could there would be reason to trust in our flesh, in our own ability. Philippians 3:3, 2 Corinthians 1:9, Galatians 6:3, 1 Corinthians 10:12. As salt and light we are truth bearers, watchmen, we warn others to flee from the coming wrath, that will come upon all who do not hold to the truth. Ezekiel 3:17-21, Matthew 28:19-20

We are to do this in a spirit of meekness because we do not stand in our own strength, it is God who makes us to stand Romans 14:4. We do this in a spirit of humility because we also walked in times passed in the very same ways as all the enemies of God. Ephesians 2:1-3. How we respond to opposition indicates the depth of our understanding and our fear of the Lord. James 3:13-18 and where we are short of what we must be as a man of God 2 Timothy 2:24-26

And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Pray to God to show you where you are to go and then do what the word of God says.

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. Brethren, be followers together of me, (PAUL) and mark them which walk so as ye have us (apostles) for an ensample (see 1 Corinthians 4:9-13. (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) Philippians 3:13-19

    God bless

  5. John 17:9 I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. 10) All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. 11) I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one.

-Jesus does not pray for the world but for His own, that they will have the courage not to despair because of the persecution that they face in this world because of His Name.

-John 17:11 " Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one."
-the name of the Father is the name He gave Jesus, therefore the name of the Father is Jesus.

The world despises (detest, hate, loathe, abhor) the name Jesus so He cannot pray for them.
