Unbelievable! Rob Bell debates homosexuality vs. The Bible

Screen shot 2013-06-04 at 5.24.22 PM

Rob bell gets hammered in this must-see “Homosexuality vs. The Bible” debate between Bell and Andrew Wilson. The 20-minute segment aired recently on the U.K.’s “Unbelievable” Christian radio talk show.

(Caution: When pressured, Bell says the word, “Bull****” at about 16 minutes in. Watch at your own risk.)

If you don’t have the stomach for this, just know that Bell meets an interviewer who is more than his match when it comes to biblical wisdom, consistent hermeneutics, and intellectual integrity.

This reminds me of a video-taped interrogation. RB’s body language, mannerism, facial expression, voice pattern, etc., all clearly indicate that his story is a rehearsed lie. He makes much of it up as he goes along, and he actually believes that he’s smart enough to pull it off! He’s no intellectual; he’s a smart-aleck.

THIS GUY IS MORE THAN LIKELY A HOMOSEXUAL IN THE CLOSET, TO PRETEND THAT YOU CAN CONDONE HOMOSEXUALITY BASED ON THE BIBLE, IS TANTAMOUNT TO SUPPORTING RACIAL INTERMIXING FROM A KKK POINT OF VIEW. THE BIBLE CLEARLY SPEAKS AGAINST THIS DISGUSTING ACT, AS PAUL SPEAKS AGAINST MEN HAVING SEX WITH OTHER MEN, AS WELL AS THE OLD TESTAMENT IN WHICH HOMOSEXUALITY WAS PUNISHED BY STONING TO DEATH ANYONE CAUGHT IN SUCH ACT. DID GOD NOT BURN SODOM AND GOMOHRRA FOR THIS VERY REASON. I SAY THIS WORLD IS DOOMED TO HELL…

There's a lot of scripture that talks about homosexuality. We just need to open up God's word and search the scriptures.
A few weeks ago I listen to Worldview Weekend Radio. The guy was talking about Sodom & Gomorrah. Here's some scripture verses he gave.
    Ezekiel 16:47-50.
    Romans 1:18,21,24-32.
    Jude 7
    Lamentations 4:6
    Jeremiah 23:13,14
    2 Peter 2:6
The next two scriptures talk about the church.
    1 Peter 4:12
    1 Corinthians 5:12.
The next scripture talks about God's wisdom.
    Psalms 111:10

I wonder if Rob actually listens to himself. Maybe if he did he would see how absurd he sounds. How sad.

I like Andrew's comment in the video, when speaking about the cost of discipleship, when he says, "lower the asking price"…..a fitting comment for the "buzz phrase" of this age.

Lot's wife didn't fair too well when she "looked back", divided in heart and reluctant to break from this world. Jesus says in Luke 9:62 that those who look back are not fit for the Kingdom of God. Trying to serve two masters creates division and lack of unity…not just one specific issue.

I agree with Rob about making homosexuality the only issue. What about fornication and adultery or lying and stealing. All these sins are condemned. Sexual sin is a hot button because of the defilement of the body 1 cor 6:13 all sexual sin not just homosexuality. Paul again talks about this 1 cor 6:16 in the context of becoming one flesh. I agree God does speak against homosexuality. He also speaks against ALL sin. Unfortunately, Rob Bell and those who think like him have rejected the whole council of word of God and only preach those things that are "relevant" to a post modern culture. It's grieve me to see a minister of God teach lies to people who believed that they are saved based on Rob Bell's understanding of salvation rather what Jesus, Paul and the rest of the apostle's taught.

Rob Bell is no "minister of God" period! I quote my thoughts exactly from the first comment here: " RB’s body language, mannerism, facial expression, voice pattern, etc., all clearly indicate that his story is a rehearsed lie." I have always said this: RB and all like him know exactly what they are doing: deceiving. They are not interested in God or his word at all and are probably even atheists in disguise. Shame.

I saw this segment on Wretched. The guy's a poser. He has no clue what it means to be a minister of the Gospel. He's taken in so many clueless sheep as well. What a joke. He reminds me of the DiCaprio character in "Catch me if you Can". At least he is not pastoring anymore in Michigan. Anyone who has been a believer for any length of time and is taken in by his books or other media is sleeping in the light.

This was all prophesied in God's Holy Scriptures. And I agree with whoever said Young Mr. Bell is probably not saved. I went to a church where the staff loved what he taught needless to say We left that church.
It used to be a calling from The Lord being a Preacher. Now its a fame and money thing. Young Mr.Bell is deceived and a deceiver and his followers should be ashamed and be like the Bereans and test everything. Amen?
May the true church keep speaking out against these Tools of the devil.

Sorry Rob, this is not rocket science, sin is sin. If he could admit this and say there are some who struggle with homosexuality he may have a case. So many in the "church" have a problem with sexually explicit material, look at the divorce rate, people who view porn, number of affairs or sex before getting married on and on. The trouble is people not willing to admit to their fallen nature and asking him for His power to change and abstain from immoral behavior.

When Jesus called his disciples they did not know much. Hear is the thing they followed Jesus and received his correction, rebuke, and instruction the one that did not ended up hanging himself when all he had to do was repent. Conversations like this are hard, but the Church needs to have more of them. Rob is hanging himself and I grieve for him.

Rob Bell, the Presbyterians, and any one that supports Gay Marriage, Homosexuality or any form of sexual perversions are side stepping Sin . Any sinful behavior, addictions, etc. is a choice made by individuals following the temptation of Satin. God loves the sinner but hates ALL sin. We in the church should welcome all to worship with us but repentance of sin is a requirement to be born again. A disciple of Jesus is known by his fruit,

do you mean that in your church you have no sinners? because as i remember there is no small sin, a sin is a sin, weather you tell a lie or you have sex with someone of the same sex, if we follow your guidelines to attend your church, come sunday morning there would not be one single soul left on your benches beginning with your pastor, because sad for you, your preacher man is no better than anyone else, the only difference between you and him is that he gets paid for quoting the bible and you pay him to do so, if you don't agree ask him if he is willing to give his SALARY to the poor….i believe in a CREATOR and disregard organized religion……

  14. William, I couldn;t agree more. I expressed this suspicion but speculated about almost every major leader of the Emergent Church: Rob Bell, Brian McLaren, Tony Jones, Doug Pagitt, etc. Watch them. Are they rebelling to justify personal sin?

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Mr. Bell comes out; perhaps he's laying the groundwork by methodically and deliberately defusing "the bomb" of homosexuality as sin.

You'll note that these leaders of the Emergent Church never address sin and the necessity of repentance. Paul warned about the Emergent Church and others like it – churches that tickle the ears and tells their followers what they want to hear, not Truth. (For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, – IITim 4:3)

These leaders are the false teachers that Paul discusses in II Peter 2. They're raging against God, full of rebellion – the oldest sin (which goes back to the beginning of time i.e., Lucifer). Watch as Rob Bell twists God's Word just as the serpent did in the Garden ("Did God really say . . .?)

It is very, very tellling when Rob Bell grows increasingly more agitated around minute 16:30 when Andrew is confronting him with God's Truth. This is the body language of a full-blown spiritual battle. Rob Bell's frustration and rage even lead him to use an expletive. His eyes are wide, pupils huge and dark, posture tense and leaning, jaw clenched.

The Emergent Church's doctrine is incompatible with the Holiness of God. Christ atoning death on the cross bridged the sin-chasm between God and man. When we repent and put our faith in Christ ("take up your cross …") we are covered in His righteousness. We have access directly to the throne of a Holy God.

We cannot approach a perfect, Holy God while still in our sin. I heard a very good analogy: it would be like a filth-covered, fetid, drunken bum stumbling through the doors of a pristine, bright-white, antiseptic operating room during surgery.

These individuals are false teachers, the hucksters of what Dietrich Bonhoeffer called "cheap grace.". We are to be wise as serpents grounded in a steadfast knowledge of the Scriptures, so that we are not beguiled and led astray.

Oh, and hypocrisy in the church as justification for false teaching? One of the disciples was a hypocrite. Christ's message never changed.
