The Narrow Path and the Broad Way

English: Narrow path

Are you on the narrow path, or the broad way? In our second half, “The Narrow Gate,” covering a John MacArthur commentary. We’re asking you to consider two systems of religion in our world. One is God’s system of divine accomplishment, which is really no religion at all, but an abiding faith in God’s grace by what He did through Jesus’ death for our sins and His resurrection. The other system is one of human achievement. One points to what Christ did; the other points to the champion in you.

But first, the news headlines point to increasing concerns about political agendas taught in schools, and the choices parents have in how to educate our children. In our first segment, what about school choice? Robert Meyer will be here to explain.

  1. J says:

I pray that I'm on the narrow path with Jesus. The broad path leads to destruction. I was at a prayer conference this week on how to develop a deeper prayer life and how to lead someone into the baptism of the holy spirit.
I will share some of the sayings that the pastor relayed to us.
I don't look backyards. I look forward and upward.
    Live by faith. Trust God.
    The devil possesses God delivers.
The Bible dictates what I believe.
Human reasoning often super seeds God's voice.
We come to Jesus on his terms.
The mercy of God is greater than we can comprehend. God simply does things for us without obligation.
I pray that we can all hear from God.

J I appreciate your post, if I may comment on some of what you were taught. I have to admit I am also skeptical of anyone claiming you can be taught how to lead someone into baptism by the Holy Spirit. That concept isn't scriptural. God saves and God baptizes whom He wills and none will prevent Him, God is in the business of quickening dead men. It is God who does that. Men are directed to bear witness to Christ Jesus's Life, Death, burial and Resurrection and the reason it was required to redeem mankind from our own Rebellion and Treachery against The Most High, We proclaim the righteousness revealed from heaven Christ Jesus, and of the coming judgement because men have rejected the truth and stand condemned already.

Man is there also to bear witness to the work of Christ in fellow man by the power of the Holy Spirit and to do all the other one anothers we are directed to do whenever we gather together. In this we demonstrate our love and obedience to Christ.

    1 Thessalonians 1:5 KJV
For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

    2 Corinthians 4:2 KJV
But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

    1 Corinthians 2:4 KJV
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

To live by faith in God is to walk in obedience to His word

The devil is the tempter and Is judged already but for a time He has been granted authority over the nations which have been given over to their own depravity to accept Satan's lies and remain under this delusion to this day. God delivers us from the kingdom of darkness (falsehood and Lies) and translates us in the Kindom of His dear Son who alone Is the Light of the World (The Truth of God).

The Bible is God's word, but do I really accept it as the word of God and give it preeminence in my life or do I look to men for wisdom or follow after the wisdom of man.

Human reasoning is futile outside of Christ, the whole of it is the stock of vanities Jeremiah 10:7-8, 1 Corinthians 1:19-21. If we are in Christ we have the mind of Christ and agree with the Scriptures and walk in accordance to them for that is the wisdom we are to pass on. Those of the world in vain they say there is no God and there is no fear of God in them. Who is like unto our God though hand join in hand the wicked shall not go unpunished. We all of us are wicked, it is Christ who saves us from that wickedness and the justice we rightly deserve and received it, all of it in our place. How could this be if he were not God Almighty?

No one will enter into Heaven unless He is Born again by the Spirit of God, those are the terms. Those who have the Spirit of God, who walk in obedience to His word will suffer persecution and in the midst of it there hearts will be broken over the ones who would do them harm. Indeed the mercy of God is greater than we can comprehend. 1 Peter 4:1-3, Matthew 5:38-48, Indeed His sun rises on the good and evil alike and we are all evil.

If we want to hear from God we must read His word. I say this tongue in check because where there is no word to be read there are other means the Lord uses, like men who have His Spirit in them as evidenced by their love for their fellow man and they will speak His Word faithfully. 1 Peter 4:11

    2 Peter 1:19 KJV
We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed , as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

    God bless.

  3. J says:

At this prayer conference anybody that wanted to seek the infilling from the Holy Spirit was asked to come forward. Everybody would gather around those that want to be baptized in the Holy Spirit.
The men leading the conference had every one pray for the people who wanted to be filled with the Baptism. My middle daughter was filled with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

  4. J says:

Can someone explain to me what 1 Corinthians 12:4 to 11 means? Thanks.

  5. Mr Davis says:

J what makes me cautious about what you experienced is man made himself out to be the channel of the Holy Spirit. God is the active agent in our faith, the Holy Spirit is God. Acts 10:44-46

1 Corinthians 12:11 explains who is the giver of the Spirit it is not man!

11 But all these worketh that One and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He will.

Who's will is it, who is the acting agent here? Is it not the Holy Spirit? The very One with whom we are sealed if we are the children of God.

If your in a situation where man is being exalted even though the man speaks of exalting God, it may be all false. This is where the podium goes a long way to destroy man. Our head is Christ Jesus let us look to Him who is alone the author and perfector of our faith.

    1 John 4:1-21
