A fool says in his heart

foolPsalm 14:1 says:

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. The Lord looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. All have turned away, all have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one. Do all these evildoers know nothing?

What keeps us from knowing that God is God? God has called those who don’t understand Him “foolish.” It’s not a very politically correct term, but in God’s eyes, it means something.

  1. Mr Davis says:

It is good to have the list in our hearts so we may check ourselves before we sin against God almighty. Too easily we do the fools errand and do not see when we ourselves walk in the fools way. By fear of the Lord men depart from evil but the fool regardeth not his way. Fear of man may prevent you from breaking mans laws but God's Law is infinity higher and without His Spirit Impossible to keep. Fear of the Lord comes by the Holy Spirit Isaiah 11:2-3.

    Psalm 14:1 KJV
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt , they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good

    Psalm 53:1 KJV
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

    Proverbs 10:8 KJV
The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.

    Proverbs 10:18 KJV
He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.

    Proverbs 10:23 KJV
It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.

    Proverbs 12:15 KJV
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

    Proverbs 13:16 KJV
Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool layeth open his folly

    Proverbs 14:16 KJV
A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

    Proverbs 17:10 KJV
A reproof entereth more into a wise man than an hundred stripes into a fool.

    Proverbs 17:24 KJV
Wisdom is before him that hath understanding ; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.

    Proverbs 18:2 KJV
A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.

    Proverbs 18:6 KJV

    Proverbs 18:7 KJV
A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.

    Proverbs 19:1 KJV
Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

    Proverbs 20:3 KJV
It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.

    Proverbs 26:4 KJV
Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.

    Proverbs 26:11 KJV
As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.

  2. Mr Davis says:

True wisdom is a gift from God, you will not find it though you earnestly seek it out to the ends of the earth. Earthly wisdom will lead you to error and ultimately damnation.

    Job 28:10 – 28
He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing. He bindeth the floods from overflowing; and the thing that is hid bringeth he forth to light. But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding? Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living. The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me. It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof. It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire. The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold. No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies. The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold.

Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding? Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air. Destruction and death say , We have heard the fame thereof with our ears. God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof. For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven; To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure. When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder: Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out. And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

So Seek the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.

Do not put your faith in the understanding of men. Knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

    JEREMIAH 10:7-8
Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain : forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee. But they are altogether brutish and foolish : the stock is a doctrine of vanities.

Jeremiah 10:10-13 But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation. Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens. He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion. When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.

Lest we think in our minds we are sophisticated now, that our wisdom is better than that of the ancients.

1 Corinthians 1:18-21 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

2 PETER 3:3-7 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store , reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Jude 1:10-13, 16-19 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves . Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds [they are] without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead , plucked up by the roots; Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling [words], having men's persons in admiration because of advantage. But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

  3. Marie says:

Praise Jesus in all His Glory. It is a great day to be alive, despite our circumstances.

Thank-you Mr. Davis for these Scriptural reminders, I really appreciate you quoting these.
