Culturally relevant or ashamed of the Gospel?

aIn these increasingly uncertain times, we are seeing a whole new level of worldliness in the Church. We seem to have adopted a “seekermergent” model that focuses on being relevant to those who don’t know Christ, by looking exactly like the culture. But those who are lost already have the culture, so why would they need the Church?  Instead of telling them about our need for a Savior and preaching repentance for our sins and the forgiveness Jesus offered once and for all in His sacrifice, we talk of tolerance, acceptance and serving the world without evangelizing.

Joining us for our first segment is a man who knows those hard-to-reach people who desperately need to hear the real Gospel: The Muslim people group, of which Elijah Abraham was once a part. Born and raised in Baghdad, Elijah is now a born-again Christian and today is the founder and executive director of Living Oasis Ministries, reaching Muslims with the Gospel. Abraham is part of Biblical Missiology, a group dedicated to shining the light of truth on a movement called Chrislam, the blending of Christianity and Islam that has been infesting the Body of Christ and is a growing concern.

One Response to Culturally relevant or ashamed of the Gospel?

  1. Mr Davis says:

Atheism isn't killing the body of Christ, the Bride of Christ for not even the gates of Hell will prevail against her.

So what is evolution doing or any other false religion or world view for that matter?

To me it is identifying those who are still entangled in the worlds delusion that salvation can be somehow achieved apart from God direct intervention, His miraculous work in us which brings us into conformity with His word through the Holy Spirit. It shows us those who need to be called to be reconcilled to God through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ and Him alone. To have no faith at all in the Flesh and what we can achieve but in God alone who saves and quickens those who are dead in their trespasses and sins.

It would seem none are exempt from this delusion and even from the pulpits falsehood is reinforced instead of refuted.

Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 1 Corinthians 1:20

Be faithful in season and out preach the Word Proclaim the Gospel of Christ Jesus who is coming soon to judge the living and the dead (dead in their tresspasses and sins). May God almighty work in us according to His divine Grace, that we be found innocent of the blood of all men in that we have not failed to share with those who are perishing the full counsel of God.
