Bill O’Reilly to Write ‘Killing Jesus’

Sometimes book sequels are a good idea. But I’m not so sure this one is the brightest. While I’m quite certain B.O. will successfully tap into the Christian market and make loads of money, I have a really bad feeling that a boatload of Christians and even those who aren’t will be getting some not-so-biblical ideas from this book. Will this installment be another murder story in which Jesus is just some victim, or will He correctly be portrayed as the One begotten Son of the Father, and in whose name alone we have hope because of what He did for us on the cross?

Here’s how the secular Hollywood Reporter is framing it:

An example of The O'Reilly Factor's Talking Po...

Bill O’Reilly, the Fox News anchor and author, has signed to write Killing Jesus: A History, as a follow-up to his best-selling books Killing Kennedy: The End of Camelot and Killing Lincoln: The Shocking Assassination That Changed America Forever.

The book will be published Sept. 24 by Henry Holt and Co. Martin Dugard, O’Reilly’s co-author on the Kennedy and Lincoln books, also will serve as co-author on this project.

In Killing Jesus, O’Reilly “will recount the seismic political and historical events” that made the death of the “beloved and controversial young revolutionary” known as Jesus of Nazareth inevitable.

“Jesus Christ has not walked among us physically for more than 2,000 years, yet his presence today is felt the world over and his spirit is worshipped by more than 2.2 billion people, O’Reilly said in a statement released by Holt. “His teachings, his legacy, his life as a flesh-and-blood man and his death created the world in which we live.”

O’Reilly’s previous two Killing books have been huge best-sellers, with more than 3.2 million copies of Killing Lincoln in print and 2.4 million copies of Killing Kennedy.

Killing Lincoln, published in 2011, has spent 73 weeks on the New York Times best-seller list and Killing Kennedy, published in 2012, has spent 20 weeks.

A TV version of Killing Lincoln aired Feb. 17 on National Geographic, drawing record ratings for the channel.

O’Reilly is best known as the longtime host of the Fox News program The O’Reilly Factor.

Eric Simonoff of William Morris Endeavor represented O’Reilly on the book deal.

Fox News is a propaganda machine which dumbs down America by the day through disinformation and their slanted agendas.

  2. Guest says:

From a man who wrote Killing Jesus it is ironic how it seems he fails to note Jesus did not come to give us Politics as our Savior, but himself. Bill pushes his brand of Politics, not Jesus

  3. Guest says:

Hard to take a man serious who blames the blacks in the ghetto for drug addiction and crime but fails to see what group first introduced organized crime into the black ghetto's. Does he think the God-father movies were all fiction? He needs a lesson on Italian crime bosses. Oh and the Irish ones too.
