A different Gospel is lulling us to sleep

Elijah's Blue EyesToday an interesting billboard campaign in Las Vegas where a Christian leader is purchasing space to publish the Ten Commandments. Is that going to help save America? Joseph Farah thinks so, but we’ve got a different take. And then, in our third segment, we’ll talk a little more about pastor Jay Bakker’s version of the Gospel, and why many believe that it is no Gospel at all.

In our first segment, we’re talking about a push within many public school districts to push Islamic faith lessons on students as young as five, and also an interesting trend within the Church in America: Most Christian churches are not interested Muslim evangelism. Why is that? Joining us for this discussion is Elijah Abraham, a frequent guest on our program and a former Muslim himself, who grew up in Baghdad, Iraq. As a born-again Christian, Elijah is the founder and executive director of Living Oasis Ministries, reaching Muslims with the Gospel. Abraham is part of Biblical Missiology, where you’ll find a host of resources.  Check out Elijah’s news articles at Right On Weekly, an online magazine.

One Response to A different Gospel is lulling us to sleep

  1. Dan says:

I feel terrible because of what we have done as the American culture against the family. This is old and it was passed on from the church, which continues to this day teaching and promoting the idea a scholastic degree, or professional position means something in God's eyes. Is God a respecter of any mans person? Does he not condemn this behavior in His followers yet this very thing we do. James 2:9, 2 Corinthians 10:12, Jude 1:15-16. But we are not without fault here for we are always looking for an excuse or a reason to not do what God word says. We eagerly take the word or follow the example of someone we esteem even if it contradicts God's word. Such is our sinful nature.

So what then do we do? We must confront our own rebellion. If we take responsibility for what God has put in our hands and treat it in accordance with God's word we do right. Anything short of doing this is rebellion and lawlessness. 1 Samuel 15:22-23.

He has given us a role to walk in, in righteousness before Him in Love that we may be a light to the nations and salt in this wicked and adulteress generation. May God who has given us this word of Life, may He guide and direct our lives in accordance with His will, and grant that we repent of our rebellion so that we may walk in obedience in accordance to His eternal word, starting in our own homes, with our families. Deuteronomy 6:4-9, 14-18

I am amazed at His Longsuffering towards me in this for even though I know what is right I do not do it. And it is because I do not ask for His power, which, comes by His Spirit in which there is no falsehood, that I am left without the strength to stand. I am very thankful God remembers we are dust and are His enemy at our very core. Oh if I could only be this merciful towards my enemies who lift up their heel against me and love them as my Savior loves me. Yet Only by the Grace of God
