Church underground?

The Christian Martyrs' Last PrayerWe’re seeing the persecution of Christians around the world increase at a stunning rate.  How close are we to seeing Christianity forced under ground in the west, here at home? Should we resist it or not?

We know what you must be thinking: “You’re just fear-mongering. That’s not going to happen in our nation.”

But the Bible says there will be worldwide persecution of Christians in end times. So while we in our comfy homes and beautiful church buildings take life in stride, the truth is that persecution is already happening in America, Canada and other places that you might think are untouchable.

How could this happen here? Because we’re setting it up to accelerate the inevitable:

  • We are ignorant of the prominent Christian leaders supporting and coordinating a worldwide blending of all religions.
  • We accept Islam as a “religion of peace” and turn a deaf ear to evidence that it is not.
  • We’ve embraced a watering down of fundamental Christianity.
  • We’re moving away from doctrine and facts to a faith of feelings and experience.

It’s happening on the Left, and it’s happening on the Right. Why? Because it must. Are you ready?

I was listening to this podcast, and it was brought up about how one comes to a point of not fearing persecution. I know for years, I would avoid any talk or discussion about persecution or martyrdom because it is a terrifying subject. However, over the last year, God has brought so many sermons to my attention (some coming from Eric Ludy), scripture, and beautiful testimonies of Christians persecuted and/or martyred, and I have come to a new conclusion. If I focus on the persecution itself, I will tremble and I will falter. But, if I keep my focus on Christ my Savior, in spite of the persecution that may come, He will hold me together. I believe with all of my heart, and have shared with the youth girls I mentor, that should God ask me to walk the road of persecution, of a martyr, that in that time, He will give me more than enough grace for the task ahead. I truly believe our God would never ask us of something that He could not supply grace for. As a 25 year old mother and wife, I know that in my own strength I could never have it in me to walk that road. But in Christ, I can do all things and His grace is sufficient. I can look back over my life and see times when God gave just a little bit extra to me to walk through what I had to. I believe my Jesus to be faithful and that He will walk me through those pearly gates, and at no point will I ever be alone. I know that road is daunting and frightening, but I also know Christ will give me all I need in that moment.

Holy Bible John 16. Jesus is speaking here. “All this I have told you so that you will not fall away (from the true faith). 2 They (of a false religion) will put you out of the synagogue (church); in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God. 3 They will do such things because they have not known (God) the Father or me. 4 I have told you this, so that when their time (of killing) comes you will remember that I warned you about them. Rev 22:16 proves that Jesus wrote the book of revelation and here is what he says will happen to Christians. Rev 20:4 I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image (false prophet and his religion) and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands.
