Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation is at it again. This time, they’re demanding that a middle school in Ohio remove a portrait from a hallway where it has hung since 1947. A student, some 66 years ago, gave the portrait to his school as a gift. And student gifts are perfectly acceptable for display, according to the school’s guidelines. But this doesn’t phase the activists, who say that if Jackson Middle School doesn’t remove it, the group will take legal action against the district.
“I’m certainly not going to run down there and take the picture down because some group from Madison, Wisconsin, who knows nothing about the culture of our community or why the picture is even there, wants me to take it down,” proclaimed the superintendent.
