Are we heading over a spiritual cliff?

We’ve all heard of of the so-called “fiscal cliff,” and whether you believe it or not, the reality is our economy is facing a crisis in America. In much the same way as Christians, we’ve come to an unprecedented place in our time and history where the Church is facing a mushroom cloud of movements, paradigm shifts and teachings that are leading many into destruction. Do you believe we are headed toward that cliff?¬† We’re going to talk about that today, and we want to hear your thoughts!

  1. Mr Davis says:

    The wonderful thing is God's hand is not too short.

    Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy , that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

    God has given us an easy solution, Repent of your sins and accept God's righteousness.

    However it is impossible for us to do so:
    Proverbs 12:15 KJV
    The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
    Proverbs 14:12 KJV
    There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
    Proverbs 16:25 KJV
    There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
    Proverbs 21:2 KJV
    Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.

    Why is this?
    Proverbs 21:8 KJV
    The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.

    Who is pure? The Christ and the one who is Hid in Christ who alone is righteous.

    … Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. Ezekeil 36:24-27

    John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. 20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

    Titus 3:5 KJV
    Not by works of righteousness which we have done , but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

    Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

    Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. Psalm32:1-2

    A Humble and contrite Heart Oh God, thou will not despise!

  2. I believe many have gone over the cliff already. Too many Christians are blindly playing follow the leader going over the cliff with their equally blind leaders who give their false visions, guiding their followers into contemplative meditation and a variety of other false teachings. Or as your timely article has just shown with Alpha Course where all denominations can find common ground supplanting the Bible’s teachings, so many more things could be added to the list! Many claiming the name of Christ have stepped over that spiritual cliff but fortunately we have a God whose hands are not too short to save as Mr. Davis aptly stated! However, sadly many of those caught up in the host of delusions out there do not know the Jesus Christ of the Bible and even being taught there is no Hell, no place of eternal punishment and the list goes on. The paradigm shift is the world and its ways, the cliff I see are the churches adoption of them – we may change but praise God He never changes!

    Hebrews 13:7 – 9 “Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. 8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. 9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.”
