Does Truth win?

The time we are in right now is ripe for the Body of Christ to point a lost an hurting world to our Savior. Often we think of the Gospel as simply to love God and love others. But this is not the Gospel; Jesus says it is the whole of the law. (A law that He knows we can’t keep, by the way!) The Good News is that we are all made in the image of God, but we are nothing without Him.  As fallen, sinful people we do not deserve His grace.  Even at our best, there is nothing we can ever do to earn an eternity with God.  But the good news is that Jesus Christ paid the punishment for our sins, and when we believe and are convicted to repent, we are forgiven!  He loves us unconditionally; His grace is everything, and it is a free gift.

One Response to Does Truth win?

  1. Mr Davis says:

    What is repentance?

When Christ Jesus is working on us we become convinced not only of our own sin against God but even our own inability to truely measure up to our own depraved standards we have established in our own minds.

Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. Romans 2:1

When sin is not a problem for us that is not a good sign and God's wrath will come upon us it is just a matter of time.

If our own sin is truely a problem that really bothers us, so much so that our desire is to do it no longer, it is only natural to resolve not to do it because we can surely overcome these things ourselves. For some this will seem to work and they will remain blind to their need of a savior. When this doesn't work and you find yourself truly powerless against sin, know this: in your desperation Christ Jesus is there and if He sets you free you shall be free indeed! So plead with Christ Jesus to forgive you your sins and grant you salvation which comes by Faith in His completed work on the Cross, to cleans you by His blood and to hide you in His righteousness, to free you from yourself and put to death that old man. Plead with Him to fill you with His Holy Spirit because you know you don't have strength to stand nor to walk in accordance with His will: that you no longer live for yourself but for one another in Christ Jesus.

You will know He has freed you when you have been born again by the Holy Spirit for He is the seal, sealing us unto the day of redemption and when you are sealed there is none who can unseal you. How can any undo what God has done. See Romans 8 all of it.

The alternative is to give in to sin and let sin reign in your life and the things of sin will fill you up even to your destruction.

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. James 1:14-15

Funny there is alot of professing Christians that seem to be living in this last category not in the least bit concerned with sin found in the gratification of the flesh.
