“Kids Without God” new national ad campaign

As if parents don’t have enough to worry about with the world hating their kids’ faith, now a new shocking website and ad campaign is about set to go national. The American Humanist Association has just launched a massive advertising campaign aimed at turning your kids away from God. Now to be fair, the AHA says it only wants to support kids and teens who don’t believe in God, not try to steal anything away from those who do. However, their words and their actions tell a different story. Here’s how The Blaze reports it:

The atheist activist community in America has taken an increasingly-active role in trying to convince citizens with doubts about their faith to fully evolve into non-believers and to “come out,” publicly proclaiming their anti-theism. Think of it as a form of secular evangelism. Already, non-believers have attempted to reach clergy who are in doubt through The Clergy Project. Additionally, there’s a humanist church service each week in Tulsa, Oklahoma (and these are only two examples). Now, in addition to reaching adults, atheist activists have their eyes set on converting kids and teens.

The “TEENS Without God site even comes with a handy video of the day:

Here is the official press release from the AHA:

(Washington, DC, November 13, 2012) — In an effort to strengthen and support kids and teenagers who don’t happen to believe in a god, the American Humanist Association is promoting its newly created website: KidsWithoutGod.com. This engaging resource offers a welcoming home for humanist, atheist and other non-traditionally religious kids where they can find information untainted by supernaturalism on a wide range of topics, including religion in public schools, science, discrimination, sexuality, and reading suggestions.

“Whether they already made up their minds to reject supernatural explanations, or are just questioning, it’s time to make available an online resource that’s built just for kids without God,” said Roy Speckhardt, executive director of the American Humanist Association. “These kids may be from traditionally religious families, or from families like that of President Barack Obama, whose mother was a secular humanist. KidsWithoutGod.com will be a friendly online community for kids who might be too shy to ask an adult directly what it’s like to be good without a god.”

To make sure this new resource becomes familiar to kids across the country, the American Humanist Association is spending over $30,000 on an ad campaign promoting KidsWithoutGod.com. Advertisements will appear on 140 Metro buses in Washington DC, including 20 king-size exterior bus posters. The campaign also includes online ads that will appear on the family of websites run by Cheezburger.com and Pandora, as well as Facebook, Reddit, Google, and YouTube. Requests to purchase ads on websites run by Disney.com and National Geographic Kids were turned down based on the content.

KidsWithoutGod.com is actually two websites, one for teens and one for younger children, both accessed through the same domain.

“With the plethora of websites geared toward teaching kids about Christianity, Judaism, or Islam, we’re pleased to add humanism to the discussion,” added Speckhardt. “Kids should know there’s another way to learn about morals and values—it doesn’t need to come from traditional religion.”

Hmmm a morality appart from God. I wonder what the basis of that morality will be.

If Civil code, who will derive it? Someone who has your best intrest in mind instead of their own, I highly doubt it. How can it be when until we are born again we are children of darkness, children of the devil, haters of God. But that isn't what the culture teaches is it? How can we hate God when he doesn't exist, what you hate then is your self because you are your god and you can't accept that.

Reminds me of prior to the flood Genesis 4:26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD. (Look at the note: then men began to call themselfs in the name of the Lord- They made themselves god.)

Perhaps feelings will reign? If it is what we feel that determines truth it is shifting sand, for who of themselves is ever steadfast. There is only one who is steadfast and He it is who is the Father of Light and lights and His Son who is the Light of the World who is one with the Father.

If this isn't a call to men not to trust in the culture to teach their own kids and to teach them themselves by modeling Christ first in their own homes and then in the market place, I don't know what is. Heed the smoke and make yourself ready.

The whole of mankind is filled with hatred towards God, it is bent against Him.

Psalm 2:1 Why do the heathen rage , and the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, 3 Let us break their bands asunder , and cast away their cords from us. 4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. 5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

Proverbs 1:10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. 11 If they say , Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: 12 Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit: 13 We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil: 14 Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: 15 My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: 16 For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

    Proverbs 2:1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; 2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; 3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; 4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; 5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. 7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. 8 He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. 9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path. 10 When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; 11 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: 12 To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things; 13 Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

An invisible sky fairy is the only thing keeping you "moral?" If your god told you to kill your son, would you do it? How moral is that?

Values, including morality, come from people like themselves. The morality of atheists is in a sense more noble by definition than the morality of theists.

While theists believe that god will punish them for immoral acts and reward them for moral acts, atheists have no motivation to be moral other than their own innate sense of morality.

It is morality for its own sake, not out of fear for punishment or desire for reward.

  2. Parents are responsible for their children and have the ultimate charge of raising them in their beliefs. If parents are atheists, the children will be raised as atheists. If you are a Christian(all denominations), your children will be raised Christian. If you are a Muslim (or any other religion), you will raise your children in the Muslim faith(or any other religion). Once the children are legally of age, they have the freedom to believe whatever they want. Actually, children(under the age of 18) may have questions about the faith, but that is all natural and part of the process of a questioning young mind. It is part of normal childhood development and identity. However, that process should be all under the umbrella of the family. If not, then you are saying that an 8 year old has the power of doing whatever he wants and parents have no control over their own children (which by the way they are financially supporting, loving and rearing into productive adulthood). The fact that this website is targeted towards "Kids" is scary. Families are already having to deal with all the outside forces that negatively influence their children and this website is another addition to confuse young minds about God simply because God is not able to be seen. Do you see Cancer with your eyes? No, you don't, but that doesn't mean that you don't have cancer? The same is true with God. Kids should not be subjected to additional conflicts and confusion because of this website. Please remove it for the sake of our children.

Parents have a right to raise their children as they see fit. However, children have a way of discerning the truth. Just as they eventually find out that their parents lied to them about the existence of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy, they will eventually find out that the supernatural god of their parents is just another made-up story. Actions speak louder than words. A good example of a life well led is more important than reading a supposedly "holy" book that spouts hatred and violence, and speaking about "imaginary friends." Time to grow up, people. Take responsibility for your lives instead of looking to a pretend "daddy" to tell you what to do.

  4. TJ155 says:

What is your basis for morality? If moral absolutes do not come from outside yourself, then morality is only what is best for "me". If morality comes from society, then 51% of any society is always moral even if that's killing someone because they believe differently than you (see Islam). Small wonder why we have so many telephone surveys. The government is trying to figure out what is moral. Yermom and KSB193 have a view of a God based on what they've heard from others. I think if they actually read the Bible with someone who could answer questions as they arise, they may not change their beliefs, but it would certainly change their comments. The God they preceive christians believe in isn't the person christians actually believe in. For that matter, many christians don't have a real good understanding of the God they profess to believe in either. Personally, I believe morality comes from God not because He randomly chose what is good and evil, but because of His character. It is who He is. We should not lie because He is truth, We do not murder because He made us in His image(people have value) and He is the author of life. If you don't believe in any God, then you must believe we evolved. If that were the case, where did morality come from? It is simply the survival of the fittest. So if killing someone helps me succeed, then it is a moral thing to do, right? Who makes it right? The one with the most power. I simply don't see the world working that way at all. If you disagree with this, that's fine. But rather than just calling people names, try reason and discussion. You may find out we agree on several points and our disagreement was based on a misunderstanding.

  5. Mary says:

Kids listen up. Read your bible all that is being done on this website and others are to turn you against our christ. You must seek truth be informed. Flee from this website and to your pastors and believing members of a christ based church.

To the blogger I was very upset when I saw what treachery you had done, but now I only want to say GOD LOVES YOU TOO.

    • ksb193 says:

Reading through various passages in the Old Testament (your holy book), I can only wonder who is more violent, intolerant, and war-like – the believers in Jehovah or the atheists? Example: I Samuel: 8-11. Be very careful which parts of the Bible you let your children read.

  6. TJ155 says:

ksb193, Like I said earlier, you simply don't understand what you're reading. You pick and choose 1 or 2 verses from an entire book and pretend to know what the entire book is saying. I can point to several verses where God tells the Israel nation to completely wipe out another nation. Though it may seem cruel to you, you need to read the reason why. These other nations were taking their children and burning them alive, among other disgusting practices. God was trying to protect the nation of Israel from following those disgusting practices. By wiping them out, the practice dies as well and more people are protected. The entire premise you're working off of is that you deserve( or people in general deserve) the love, grace, and mercy of God. In reality, we deserve God's wrath, punishment, and condemnation. The fact we ourselves have not already been condemned shows God's mercy and love toward us. The questionyou ask "how can a loving God allow this terrible thing to happen?" Really should be " How can a righteous God not have destroyed me as well, because I am so deserving of his wrath?" You believe you are basically good and so you believe you deserve "good" to happen to you. When it doesn't you blame God and decide there must not be a God because I deserve good things and good things didn't happen. The basic premise is faulty. We have ALL disobeyed God. We ALL deserve punishment. It is only by God's grace and mercy we are not all in hell right now. The story is simple. God loves us so much that even after we disobey and deserve death, he continues to work to restore the friendship we once had with Him..It is our choice, though. He won't force us to spend eternity with him. He provided the payment for our disobedience, but if we reject that, he has no other option. There is no plan B.

    • person says:

The practice dies, eh! What about the salem witch trials wherein Christians burned young girls at the stake? Ridiculous!

      • TJ155 says:

Perhaps you're confusing what is actually written and commanded by God with what sinful people do. There have been alot of hateful crimes committed in the name of Christianity. Not all those who pretend to be Christians are actually living a "Christ – like" life. That is what the term Christian means. When you read the old testament, you'll notice the Israel nation did not obey God and those nations corrupted Israel. It was not long before Israel began burning their children alive..Actually frying them and eating them…Makes me sick to think about it. Anyway, if you take a look at what Jesus said concerning how we were designed to live, you'll get a better idea of what true Christianity is. People are not perfect and they screw things up, but that does not change what is right and wrong. When God said murder is wrong, it is wrong even when people who call themselves Godly commit murder. Disobedience is called sin and God said there is only one punishment for sin. That is forever being separated from God (AKA spiritual death). God loved you so much he paid the punishment you deserved. We all deserve death, but God paid for that. That's why Jesus had to die…to pay for the punishment we deserved. But back to your original question. People who call themselves Christians are no more perfect than any of the worst people you can think of. We are only forgiven. We have accepted what Jesus did for us by his death. I do question weather those people were even Christ-like in the least bit if they were committing those acts. It does reflect poorly on Christ, but it is not what Christ commanded us to be doing. If I call myself a Vegan, but I eat meat, am I really following what a Vegan stand for? Am I really a Vegan? No. So, I suggest you go to the source of what Christianity is all about. See what Christ said. If you still have questions,I'll be here.
