Have we coddled our youth?

If you have kids or teens and you listen to this program, you might want to call them into the room to hear this message. In every denomination, there is a battle going on for one thing: Is the Bible God’s true Word?

There is a lot being said and done in the Church these days in the name of Jesus that is leading Christians off the narrow path He spoke of. Jesus also spoke of deceivers and wolves. And while we can educate ourselves and discern true from false, are we adequately preparing our children?

We know that today’s young people are poorly prepared for the so-called “real world” that awaits them.   Have we coddled them as parents, youth pastors or mentors?

Mike& Amy One of the major causes of the youth of today,is that they are in effect raised by their mothers! Fathers are tasked with the major part of monitary support. This takes a lot time and energy, especially when the wifely support which should go to her husband goes to the children. The wives are also supported by the law which takes the man out of the husbands….Dave

  3. Mr Davis says:

I don't think we have coddled our youth at all. We have handed them over (our youth) to the culture and the one who is the prince over it, if only for a time. The one whom the Lord God has allowed to blind their eyes (Our culture) to the truth. The one whom wants to destroy each of us. Today our youth bear their masters marks proving who they belong to and we wonder how it happened. Really???

    John 8
42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. 43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

And we as christians have willingly went along with this maddness even though it goes against God's word. Moreover we have justified our doing it even when we are confronted with God's word regarding this and about our responsibilty towards our children. We somehow justify our continuing on this path by saying I went through this and look how I turned out. I turned out OK. Oh really. You turned out OK did you?

If we are indeed christian, we have possession of the only key to freedom: The Gospel of Jesus Christ. We fail to share it, we fail to live it out in our lives, makes you wonder if we really posses it.

    John 8
28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. 29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him. 30 As he spake these words, many believed on him. 31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free .

There is good reason why the Church here isn't underground yet. We are not a light in our culture neither are we salt and we continue to feed our children to the wolves. Why would Satan want to break that up.

Oh God please open our eyes to what we are doing and how we are destroying our own children through our own neglect.

Our problem isn't our culture it is our own sin and that doesn't seem to bother us much. We are more concerned with looking good outwardly than being honest about our own depravity before God.

Psam 32: 1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered . 2 Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

There is a disturbing among baby boomer parents to over parent their kids. Google Boomers won't let kids take responsibility. It seems that Boomer children are too special too fail. The boomers rejected their own parents, thus they were not launched with blessings into the world, then they went all me all the time, then gave all of themselves to their kids, and now many of them can't find a reason to live outside their adult children. That said we tend as moralizes to criticize the boomers for the sixties, but the original me generation was the flappers and part of their party while you can mentality was shaped by WWI and prohibition. Just look back and imagine a car being driven by a drunk, it swerves first one way they the next. This is our country on sin.
