Faith, family and fear: Sharing Christ with your closest people

Why is it so difficult to share the hope of Christ with the people who are closest to us? Family members, distant relatives, friends; these people know you very well.  You’d think that these bonds of familiarity and love would make sharing the Gospel easier. But we know that this often is not the case. Even Jesus’ own siblings had trouble understanding the Truth at first.

Are you praying for strength to share your faith with those you love? Today we’re getting some encouragements and tips for witnessing to different people groups from Heath Pucel of the Burnbrothers Ministry,  an organization that trains Christians on how to overcome their fear and share their faith.

One Response to Faith, family and fear: Sharing Christ with your closest people

  1. Mr Davis says:

Don't forget to pray for courage and wisdom and the words he woud have us speak to them. It is good to acknowledge we can't see the heart but God does and He alone knows what people need to hear, therefore, we ask for the Lord's wisdom here.

It is good to acknowledge when your witnessing especially with family your sins you have done because they know of them too. That should allow you to speak of the truth and how you came to see what you did as wrong. That your heart was changed about what you had done and you repented because you believed in the work of Jesus Christ. Christ who is God who came down from heaven and became man to die in our place for our sin according to the scriptures. He was buried and resurrected according to the scriptures and any that put their hope in Him alone, will not be disappointed for He will resurrect them also at the time He has appointed and they will live and reign with Him forever.

    John 3:

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up : 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish , but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish , but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved . 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned : but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved . 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest , that they are wrought in God.
