Gay Marriage: Where is your church on this?

There is no more divisive topic in the Church today than homosexual marriage. Last week President Obama formally announced his support for same sex marriage as a legal right in this nation.

Today we’re asking the question, where are our church leaders on this? Where is your pastor? Has he made it clear where your church stands on this, and if not, will you stand up and ask?

We’re going to spend this hour talking about the reaction from around the nation. So far, the national leaders in the Church have been mostly silent, except for a few. most notably, America’s pastor, Rick Warren of Saddleback Church has not said anything at all.

In case you’ve forgotten his now famous flip-flop on California’s Proposition 8 on gay marriage, this video is a must-see:

Great show again today. Thanks for standing up for the truth!

Proverbs 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp, And the law a light; Reproofs of instruction are the way of life…

Leviticus 18:22, 24 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] abomination. Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

This comes to mind when listening to Obama: Rev 13:11c he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. and 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan with all power, signs and lying wonders and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. and for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Romans 1:25-28 …who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;…

    Jesus' own words:

Matthew 5:17 "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.

Matthew 10:34 "Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.

Luke 12:51 "Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division.

Genesis 1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness

Even so it is today. God is dividing the light from the darkness. Notice Proverbs 6:23 (above) says "the law is light"

I think it is very important to remember: We were all lost once! So why should we be angry or shocked when wicked men do wicked things. There is not one righteous says th Lord God not one. Even of us there are none perfect so what hope is there for the unbeliever to do what is right. It is by the grace of God we are not devouring one another, but the time of removing that restraint draws near.

    Ephesians 2:
11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

So this is only solved by an act of God.

    Colossians 2:13 KJV
    And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

    Ephesians 2
1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved 😉

If it is God's work, God's grace, we should be going to God in repentance and prayer. It is because of us the so called body of Christ not standing for the truth that we find ourselves here. So from generation to generation our tradition of sin continues and we love it. We get the leaders we deserve!

What must I do, What must I do? I am grieved dear ones, because we hated discipline and the Lords reproof all of this has come upon us. I am not lying. All are at fault, the professional and lay person alike, all are without excuse. If we are borne again, we have the Holy Spirit. If we are borne again we should have a hunger for God's truth which is only found in God's word. We have God's word in our language. What excuse can we possibly have?

What to do about those who profess Christ Jesus and Him crucified, who claim to be borne again.

    2 Thessalonians 3
6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

7 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you; 8 Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you: 9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.

10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work , neither should he eat .

11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. 12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work , and eat their own bread. 13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. 15 Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

Dear children the world hurtles towards consensus around opion of men, men who know how to manipulate feelings and our desires. Yea they are masters at it. They have learned their craft well. If you are ruled by your feelings you will never mature. Our only hope in this all is Christ Jesus. The Author of Truth. He is the way the truth and the Life no one can come to the Father but by Him.

Oh Children the only way to become men and women is Love the Lord your God with all your heart all your mind and all your soul and all your strength and cling fast to His commands. Your feelings your desires will betray you!!!

    2 Corinthians 10
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled .

  3. J.E. says:

How can this question be a difficult one, to a person who is truly a Christian? The Bible is very clear on acts of homosexuality and it is beyond me how any follower of the Bible can accept such behavior as good and proper. Follow the Bible – It is the only way forward!!
