Brokenness and the Church

We know the Church isn’t perfect, but how did we get here? The answer can begin with looking in the mirror. What we see is our part in a broken world, made up of broken people. Author Scott Alan Buss is here to share insights about the trends in the Church. He has written several books, including, Stupid Elephant Tricks: The Other Progressive Party’s War on Christianity.   Scott’s first book, Fire Breathing Christians: The Common Believer’s Call to Reformation, Revival, and Revolution was launched in 2010, andApathetic Christianity: The Zombie Religion of American Churchianity is just out as well. I love that Scott is so grounded in the person of Jesus Christ. How does someone become a leader in the Body of Christ? By vote, then there must be many false positives. The kind of leadership the church needs it won't submit to, these are the ones who are to take liberties, or walk in the mere traditions of men. What is the scope of authority of christian leaders when the Bible clearly says 'Christ is the head of every man.'. Unless the Holy Spirit identifies who the leaders are we are just children in the marketplace. The Biblical litmus test is incomplete without the accompanying testimony of God's Spirit (Acts 13). One day, sooner rather than later we will be forced to awaken from the dream and realize that weave said a lot about God but never been willing to submit to those whom He would raise up, and therefore we have rejected Him. Oh that these things happened quickly, but we build the tombs of the prophets and swear if we had been alive then we would never have killed them.

Grace and truth have come, and how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? But at least for now America is far more interesting to us than Jesus. What should shock us about that is that the Lord is not thundering from the heavens, for those whom He loves He disciplines, and God knows them that are His.

    Wow, Larry well said!

All we have to do is submit to the word of God and yet we, all of us, refuse to do that. The bar is so high, God is so Holy, Righteous and True and we are all bent on denial, lies and hypocrisy so that we may continue to sin presumptuously against the Lord God. We search dilegently to justify ourselves before others by His word and never consider for a moment how upside down that is.

If you are born again you know you if you are justified, The Holy Spirit of God testifies with you to your state if you have been forgiven by Grace.

But this is not the Gospel taught in the west where we teach men to profess Christ to be saved, yet live like twice dead sons of hell in pursuit of the wickedness bound up in their own hearts.

We refuse in our so called churches, to test the profession of the mouth to see if fruit follows and in the case of its lack do due dillegence to discipline unto repentance and restoration.

Will we heed His word or will we continue to be self justifiers?

Measure everything against His word! Pray for wisdom and understanding, don't trust yourself any longer, your flesh is pure evil, when God reveals that to you accept it and rejoice for God is dealing with you as His own. Ask for His strength to cast it off, it means to destroy you! Glorify God give Him Full Credit for the Sanctifing work He is doing in you. Remember how filthy you are, yet by God's grace God's righteousness Jesus Christ covers you.

Oh Praise God He alone is able to make dead men live!
