Whom do we represent?

Wall Street Stars & Stripes

For Christians whose vocation is politics, how does one represent the people without selling God out? Are we a blessed nation, or is God lifting His hand of blessing on the good ol’ U.S.A.? That’s just a few of many questions we’re lobbing out there to you our audience, and to our guest, Paul Tittle, a local Manitowoc, Wis., county board chairman. Paul says he views himself as a christian who serves God in politics, not a christian politician.

One Response to Whom do we represent?

  1. Mr Davis says:

    Is it not foolish to think any leader we elect should be held to a lower standard than what the Bible identifies as the requirements for an elder in the church? Then again where do we have churches that follow this standard? If the Churches which are claiming Christ are not following God's own requirements for the preservation of the body how can we expect our pagan country to do any better.

    1 Timothy 3

    1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

    3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; 4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

    6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

    No we vote according to convenience not qualifications here.

    Why? Have we not Rejected Christ?

    Psalm 69:

    22 Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap. 23 Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake. 24 Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them. 25 Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.

    26 For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded. 27 Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness. 28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.

    God's own word is damning us, for not standing for Christ and His Word.

    1 Timothy 4

    1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

    1 Timothy 5 SALT AND LIGHT

    21 I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality. 22 Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.

    IF we who are called of God don't repent of our own sins and interceed and confess on behalf of those who are in the electorate who will?

    God help us!
